Where to start identifying a huge wooden propeller?

Hello.
I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction about identifying a propeller I inherited from my dad when he died. Its all wood, and a single blade, with a substantial metal threaded part at the end. It is heavy, I'd say 40 Kg, and its about 170 cm long. There are some markings that I have identified, which are "N211/28" and "RA5813". Its in immaculate condition, apart from the rusty hub end. He was a huge aeroplane enthusiast, and had a thing for Spitfires, Lancasters and Hurricanes. I know he had it for about 40 Years. Does anyone know how I may be able to tell what this came from? I know very little about variable pitch propellers, which this one is, but you should contact Monte Chase at http://notplanejane.com. He has a huge collection of them and is very knowledgeable about their identification.

I would venture a guess that it's at least possible that this one was for a Spitfire.
