  • Recent Unusual Early Propeller Purchase

Hello, I recently purchase an odd wooden propeller. ( see Photos ) . I have some experience with wooden airplane propellers and have had many over the years with my focus on pre 1930 examples. This one has me stumped if it is an early airplane propeller at all or something else. It is 9 feet long and well made. It has the unusual metal wrapped tips and an inlaid steel plate with an 8 bolt hub. I bought it via a friend in another state and await its arrival to see if it marked anywhere and to get dimensions of the bolt pattern. Anyone out there have any insight ?

Thank you in advance for your time, John

I notice that it's a left hand thread, which is often but not always associated with a pusher configuration. Some early props have no significant identifying markings but unfortunately so do some knock-off and homemade ones.

What is the diameter of the bolt circle? and bore diameter and is it tapered or straight?.....there's a chance it could be wind electric.
