  • Mercedes, Germania props info needed

    Hello.

I am looking for information (origin, linked aircraft/engines, value, etc) for a collection of propellers which have been in the family for a long while now.

Mainly German props it seems except from the top one. That seems to be the remains of a 4 blades DeH4 prop.

    Further, from top to bottom:
”made in Berlin” - width 3m. Hard to read the stamps
    Mercedes, 160 PS. D 2,75m
    Germania, 180 PS D 2,75m

I have a few more additional photos of stamps available which I could upload in an additional post if needed.

    Many thanks in advance.

    kind regards,
    Philippe

German manufactured wooden propellers can be very difficult to identify, and there were hundreds of different models for the variety of aircraft and aircraft engines. They are usually stamped with engine type and horsepower as well as diameter and pitch, but there is no good listing of all those applications. Sadly, Bob Gardner, whom I consider the world authority on German props, no longer participates here, and to my knowledge his extensive series of books on the subject are no longer available.
