  • Pegasus D10-0 P8 propeller

Could you please assist me in identifying this propeller that my late father has had since I could remember.

As you can see in the attached photos, it has a date stamp (March 1937) and serial number:

    March 1937
    C10582
    50813A

    Drawing number 229
    Pegasus D10-0 P8

    Kind regards
    Thomas Mackenzie

I'm not aware of any Pegasus aircraft from that era, although the markings are clear. The "D 10 0" and "P 8" likely refers to a diameter (length) of 10 feet and a pitch of 8 feet, but the other numbers don't lead anywhere at this point.

      Hi

      Thanks for your response.

Having done a quick search on this forum, I found an article about a PEGASUS VI - DRG No 228928 1. propeller that was used on a Supermarine Walrus.

There was also a post about a 1936 British Propeller for the Bristol Pegasus II M-2 engine, as identified by The Royal Air Force Museum was used on the Hawker Osprey and some versions of the Hawker Audax aircraft.

Hopefully someone has more specific information.

      Regards
      Thomas

I misread the design number. These are the numbers for a Supermarine Walrus:
        228928
        228928/1
        228928/A
        229828/H/3
        Diameter: 10’ Pitch 8’

If anyone is interested in this propeller, please message me.
