  • How to Build Off a Print

I'm building in Fusion360 a propeller based on this print.

    BladeSection.jpg

On the blade section of the print is a horizontal dashed line and an angled dashed line. What is the significance of the angled line? Are the cross sections close to the hub placed along the angled line and those further away along the horizontal?

I don't know the answer, but on other schematics there seems to be a similar angle shown in a different way, as on this drawing.

Unfortunately this print has a lot of scaling errors. Maybe it was from the original scan, maybe it was never a real print but really a piece of wall art. A shame I was hoping to reproduce one.

There are other options. There is a plan for an "Axial" propeller from a fokker Dr.I knocking around, as well as some others. I also have an "Astra" propeller plan that I reverse engineered from photos of a propeller in a museum.
