  • Hartzell Propeller

My dad had this propeller for as long as I can remember. I was wondering if it has any value or if it’s strictly a decoration for a airplane enthusiast. It’s 7’ 2” tip to tip.

It's definitely not airworthy so any value would be as a display propeller. Its potential value is diminished by the alterations to the hub. Also, it looks as if original fabric from the tip has been removed. A photo showing the entire prop from directly in front could be helpful.

The model number 44K13397 is referenced on this page, which leads to identification for a Fairchild UC-61, A. See this page. The "44K" prefix indicates a 1944 military contract, although the actual production date is often a little later than the contract number.

Is there a site I can go to for an appraisal? The little holes on the front are because my dad put a clock in it.
