ID info I can read are, 4664, ROFODIE, 8-3 x 500 right hand, S039976 it has 8 holes. pics included. Can anyone tell me the year, the plane it was on and also approximate value? IMG_2423.jpg
It's almost certainly a variant of this propeller, used on a Curtiss JN4. There were a number of variations in stampings, metal sheathing, etc. but they seem to be fairly commonly found as they were over-produced and many wound up as surplus when the OX5 began to become obsolete.
See this page regarding valuation. It appears to be in original condition, which helps, although it doesn't appear to have been mounted on an airplane.
