  • Need help in identifying a prop and its use

I am trying to find information about a prop with the following information. I would like to know when this type of prop was used and what type of aircraft it was used on, either military or civilian.

    DES 78A590
    188742
    HP 120
    Max Rpm 2375
    Length 79"

EAA and AOPA were not able to provide any useful informaiton about this prop. Thanks in advance for any help.

Does your prop have decals or imprinting indicating the manufacturer?

It appears that the DES indicates that the prop is a Flottorp.

There are no decals on the prop.

Thanks for your interest and response.

"DES" is stamped on many different props from many manufacturers, including Flottorp.

It doesn't look like it matches any of the Flottorp drawing (design) numbers, although they did manufacture one propeller of 78 inches under type certificate number TC754 that fits with that horsepower and RPM. That type certificate expired September 3, 1948.
