  • Propeller I.D.

I have a propeller that i got from my uncle and i need to know what it is. It is 6 feet long, has 6 bolt holes, and has 2 blades. There is a metal strip on the leading edge. The center hole has a diameter of 3 inches. It has definitly seen a lot of use. It's so used that i can't tell what the serial number is or who the manufacture is. The symbol on the propeller is yellow with a two-bladed propeller design between two words. Can anyone tell me what is possibly is?

A picture might help, but frankly that description fits a thousand possibilities, or more.

I can't get you a picture but it's black with yellow tips. Does that help at all?

        Bobo,

Black blades with yellow tips are characteristic of the RAF, RCAF, RAAF and others during WW2 and after. The comparatively short size suggests that it is from a basic trainer such as the Tiger Moth.

        With kind regards,
