  • Help with Identification

My dad got this wooden propeller from a friend at the old Flushing Airport in Queens, New York.

It is marked with the following information:

    2
    42690

    P539
    8" 6' X 5" 3' (the dimensions, obviously)
    S064342

It is also marked with what appears to be 2 small inspections stamps.

Other than the copper tips, the prop is in overall verry good condition.

Any help on identification/value is greatly appreciated

It's hard to know from that informaton. The "SO 64342" is more likely "SC", referring to Signal Corps numbering.

It would help to post a photo of the entire propeller, especially with your mention of the "copper tips".

The picture is somewhat out of focus - it looks like it has no bolt holes which may mean it was rejected in the inspection process during finishing.

You're right--it is as SC; will try to get a better photo
