  • Chauviere propeller.

I have got the early Chauviere propeller. I would like to identify the model. The parameters I have measured don’t fit with the propellers’ parameters on this site. The diameter is 250 cm instead of 260 cm and the pas is 160 and not 125. I would like to know 1. if it is a customized model, 2. the history of the plane that had this propeller. Please advise how can I found this information. Thank you in advance for your support. Seria #22121, Number 9568.

    Hi,

Most Chauviere props have a 4 digits serial number. When there are 5, it is the 4 digits serial with something special : 22121 has to be written 2212-1, that is a serial 2212 with some specific detail.
Chauviere 2212 has to be a 260 cm prop with a 160 cm pitch.

Depending of the size of the central hole, it was use on different engines. With such a prop number, aircraft markings are not certain: until late in 1914, the aircraft codification was not stamped and in this case there is no way to know for which one the prop was made.

To go further, hou have to post pics of the whole prop and one pic of each side of the hub : very clear pics without using the flash. If you can't post on the thread, please send me the pics at pmdecombeix__at__yahoo dash c o m (without spaces nor underscores).

    Regards,
