    Hi there

Just got my second propeller. (Frist was a part of a Gotha Bomber, transformed to a clock).

By looking at the markings another German one.
This one is complete. But can't figure out in what time period I should place it. Pre/early ww1 of interbellum.

    Markings are on the blades:

    First:
    ST 183
    D273
    N1226

    Second:
    Mercedes
    100 Pf

    Overall lenght 250 cm

    Greetings
    Bert

Hi Bert, nice prop! The markings are clearly German. St means ‚Steigung‘ (= pitch), D is ‚Durchmesser‘ (= Diameter) , so it should be 2m 73 centimeters long. N means ‚Nummer‘ which is production number. Since this is low the propeller may have been produced early in WWI. The 100 PS (Pferdest?rken = hp) Mercedes D.I engine was produced from 1913 and used throughout WW1 on many German planes, primarily trainers like the Albatros BII. There are no indications as to the manufacturer anywhere on the prop?

      Hi,

There is no more info to be found on it. So no manufacturer is visible (unless I look at the wrong places).
The diameter of the propeller at this moment is 254cm.
