  • Dad's prop

Dad was an airplane guy, our family business was a light aircraft repair shop. As a 19 year old girl I worked on planes with him, even got stuck inside a Navion when the canopy cable broke. For some reason I never heard the story of this prop that hung in the garage. As dad has passed I have now hung this prop 20230708_172110.jpgin my house. Can someone provide more info? Thank you!

That’s a nice propeller but the three photos are not much to go on. The tip to tip measurement might narrow down possibilities as to possible applications; also, if the spinner can be detached, it might reveal further clues in the form of letters and numbers stamped on the hub.

Thank you. We measured it before it was hung, I believe it is 105 inches. The spinner (hub?) Seems to be made of wood and seems to be 1 piece. Dad could have made this.
