  • Mystery Mini Mahogany WWI? propeller

I recently acquired a small 36" propeller and I'm looking for any assistance on its application or history. It is constructed of 5 laminations of mahogany with a design that could be WWI era.
    Engravings: H.J. VANDERVOORT 1918 GORNELL
    Dimensions: 36" long X 3 1/2" wide X 1 1/2 thick
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Scott

This looks like a display or presentation piece to me. For what it’s worth, I think it reads “CORNELL”. Possibly a reference to Cornell university.
There’s a document online that shows somebody by the name of Willard Vandervoort as a donor to the Cornell Alumni Fund in 1930; not proof of anything but possibly there’s a family link with the university?
