Dave,
Could you please delete the very old sticky note at the top of this Early Wooden Propellers page and could you move my current posts about my books to the top to replace it.
With thanks,
Bob

Bob Gardner's books on WW1 wooden propellers; prices.
A note to my fellow forumites about my sell-off of the last of my books on British and German WW1 aircraft wooden propellers. In effect this is my closing down sale as I am no longer able to write books. But I shall continue to be a researcher for this marvellous website originated by Dave Bahnson.
Below is a breakdown of the costs of buying a set of both my German and British sets of books. But you will still be able to buy single books should you so wish.
The details of buying a set of my British books and my German books is set out below. These are the retail prices which have existed for the last ten years or so but there will be an additional 10% off these prices for my fellow forumites.
The retail cost of my books are;
German WW1
German Prop Industry soft back £27.00 GBP...…....Nos available 6
German Pt 1 Hard £34.00 GBP...……………………….... Nos available 12
German Pt 2 Hard SOLD OUT
German Pt 3 Hard £36.00 GBP .....................…....Nos available 9
British WW1
British Design of Wooden Props £36.00 GBP.........Nos available 6
British Part One Soft only £27.00 GBP...…………….. Nos available 12
British Part Two Hard £38.00 GBP...……………………. Nos available 4
[So, only four complete sets are available, but I have two 'seconds' of Part Two with inscription on fly, and 'one' with printing off-set by a few mm.]
British Part Three Hard £39.00 GBP............………..Nos available 19
British Part Four Hard £40.00 GBP .........…………...Nos available 4
British Part Five Hard £41.00 GBP...…………………... Nos available 5
We pack two books per specialist book wrap. Cost £2.00 GBP
Postage per book wrap varies from £5.00 within Great Britain to £16.00 to USA and Australia.
SO MY ESTIMATE OF TOTAL COST OF SHIPPING ONE SET OF GERMAN BOOKS TO USA IS:
Each of the six sets of the German Series of three books will cost...£ 97.00
Two book wraps at a total of …………………………………………?? ?………..………£ 4.00
Postage to USA for two packs @ £16.00...…………………………………? ??…..£ 32.00
TOTAL COST OF ONE GERMAN SET...……………………………………?? ?……£133.00
AND THE ESTIMATE OF TOTAL COST OF SHIPPING ONE SET OF BRITISH BOOKS TO USA IS:
Each of the six sets of the BRITISH Series of six books will cost...£221.00
Three book wraps at a total of …………………………………………?? ?………….£ 6.00
Postage to USA for three packs @ £16.00...…………………………..…. …£ 48.00
TOTAL COST OF ONE BRITISH SET...……………………………….……? ??……£275.00
TOTAL COST OF ONE BRITISH AND ONE GERMAN SET IS THEREFORE................... £408.00 gbp
But note that members of this forum will receive a 10% discount, so the sum of £408 for two sets is reduced to £367.00 gbp, a saving of £41.00. Remember, the 10% discount applies to anything you buy from one book to both complete sets.

Not one bit, Bob. In fact at the risk of looking like a spam email generator I'll see if I can send out a notification to all forum members advising them of this post and of your offering to all members.Originally posted by Bob Gardner View PostMichael,

Michael,
Contrary to your entirely reasonable point of view, I have two entirely different points of view!
The first is to sell my remaining stock to members of this forum in plain sight, which will enable forumites as well as other visitors to the forum to have constant reminders that my books continue to sell and that my stock is diminishing. My books have gone to several museums of early aviation; two in Germany, three in GB and several in the US.
I plan to give forumites and any other customers a discount. And if I had a third thought it would be that selling my books here in plain view at a discount is not only a benefit for members but also some compensation to me for the hours of research I do each week for this forum.
I'll send you the costs and savings later today by email.
Any forumite wanting to buy my books should email me at aeroclocksatbtinternet.com, written thus to evade and foil the spambots.
Dave Bahnson; do you have any objections to this plan?
With kind regards,
Bob

Col Gardner I would like to purchase a complete run of all books that are in stock- as this will be a bit pricey my frugal side surfaces -Im fine with soft cover and seconds - If you have a moment could you be so kind as to send me a quote - I dont wish to burden the forum with business so i can be contacted at : raineyantiques@islc.net Best regards Michael RaineyOriginally posted by Dbahnson View PostBob,
I feel extremely fortunate to have already purchased all of the volumes as each one of them was completed over the years.
I am envious of your hard work in producing them while at the same time a little bit ashamed that I abandoned my own plan years ago to write just a single book about wooden propellers in general. I knew I did not have the time and patience to do the amount of research you've done and am thankful that you were willing to take on the task. I consider those books a very valuable component of my collection, and I now realize that anything I might have produced would have paled in comparison to your publications.
Thank your for all that you have done, including sharing your extensive knowledge on this forum!

Bob Gardner's propeller books
BOB GARDNER'S BOOKS ON WOODEN PROPELLERS
A note to my fellow forumites.
I still have about one hundred of my books on WW1 wooden aircraft propellers for sale on my website at aeroclocks.com
BRITISH WW1 WOODEN AIRCRAFT PROPELLERS
I have four complete sets of the series on British WW1 propellers. I also have a mixture of about fifty copies of individual Parts One to Five, in both hard and soft back format.
GERMAN WW1 WOODEN AIRCRAFT PROPELLERS
I do not have any complete sets of the four books on German WW1 propellers but have a total of forty individual copies of the four individual parts, again in both soft and hard back formats.
SECONDS
I also have a handful of books which are seconds with minor scuff marks or tears and some with inscriptions written before the sale failed to go through! These books are perfectly readable. Including postage these have a list price of between thirty and sixty pounds and we offer them with a discount of fifteen GB pounds per copy.
With kind regards,
