I have a Shreck Propeller with the following details.

One one side of the hub it reads:

    Hyd Schreck FBA
    His 180

On the other side of the hub it reads:

    Sie 18567
    No 31
    U H
It has two decals that I can't make out. Both are a octagonal shape and appears to have been blue and gold in color.

It is 104” Long. The leading edges of the prop are copper clad.
On bolt circle is: 27 11 25 KC
The wood appears to be mahogany, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone know anything about it and what it might be worth?

    Thanks, Brian

    Hi,

The small octogonal decal is the one of people who made the lacquer coating. You can see one here : http://www.woodenpropeller.com/forum...read.php?t=452 (bottom of first page).

Markings are probably for a FBA seaplane type 17, but I don't know exactly which model. If your reading of numbers on the flat side of the hub are correct, the prop was made in 1925 (consistent with a/c).

As those planes were pushers, it is on the prop intrados you have to look for the prop maker decal. Because of its shape and the serial number structure, I think it is a Lumière prop. There is a very bad decal (and how it has to be further in the thread) here : http://lagrandeguerre.cultureforum.n...lice-de-voisin

The wood may be mahogany, but preferably beech.

If there is some decal leftover on the intrados, please post a picture.

    Regards,
    PM

      PM,

Thank you for your reply. I will check again for a decal but I didn't see one previously.
