  • curtiss hs-1 prop front plate?

First off, great forum for a worthy hobby. I just purchased what appears to be, based on the info on this forum, a curtiss flying boat hs 1 (2853) 8 bolt holes propeller (or at least one of the two that were bolted together in those days). I'd like to mount on my wall, but was wondering whether anyone knew where one could get an 8-holed face plate that would fit within the hub inset? Thanks very much for any advice..

Well, even if you could find an original hub for that propeller, you'd still have 3 1/2" of space to fill, but I think finding one would be quite a challenge anyway.

You can certainly have a metal plate fabricated at a machine shop, but displaying that without the whole hub mechanism seems a little "incorrect" to me, and I think they are better displayed as is, with no hub assembly.
