  • ID needed on prop

Hi all I am new to the forum and also new to propellers.
I have had a propeller blade in my attic for years. I would just like to know some info about it and approximately how much it is worth. Its about 54 inches long and 11 inches wide

    Welcome to the forum, Phil,

Your prop blade was made by the firm of Tibbenhams in Ipswich, who were large scale furniture makers who were recruited during WW1 to be large scale propeller makers. It looks as though it is from a four bladed prop, but this is a very tentative thought.

Tibbenhams initially only made props for the Royal Aircraft Factory and examples are known from the following aircraft; BE2, BE12, FE2, RE8, SE5, but later in the war they made props for AIRCO aircraft and known examples are the DH5 and DH9.

    With kind regards,

    Bob
