After running for 2 years as a phpBB forum and now for 6 years as VBulletin, we were finally forced to upgrade our VBulletin software due to incompatibility with newer versions of .php code on the server. There is considerable added expense to this upgrade, along with the ongoing expense for domain hosting and web space.

Now, the time has come that we need to ask for support from our members to be able to keep the forum running. We use NO advertising and have NO other source of revenue.

Please donate by sending a PayPal contribution to dbahnson AT (formatted with the "@", of course) to help ensure that the site remains available to help solve some of the mysteries of antique wooden propellers and preserve the data obtained in the process.

Today we migrated the old phpBB2 forum, running since January, 2006, to the current vBulletin software. There are still some bugs to work out and changes to be made, but for those who used the previous forum, you'll notice some big improvements, including:
    • Ability to upload photos as attachments, or easily link to photos on a web server and display them in posts.
    • "View First Unread" post in existing threads that you have already looked at.
    • Simpler text options in the posting window.
    • Easier linkage to other url's with hyperlinks.
    • Better security from spambots, meaning fewer annoying spam postings.
    • Better security from hackers (who disabled the last forum for several days).
    • More intuitive and easier navigation within the site, identical to many other similar forums.
If you want to learn more about how to use some of these features, click on the "FAQ" link at the top of this page.

We continue to receive excellent support from Bob Gardner at Aeroclocks and Lamar Bevil at Modern Wooden Propellers. Both of these gentleman continue to be Moderators on the forum and offer their expertise whenever they can. Many thanks to both of them!
