  • Hartzell Prop I.D.

I have an old Hartzell prop made in Piqua Ohio Design # is 409, serial # is 14105. The prop is 7 ft 9 " long with riveted copper or brass sheeting on the leading edge. Any info ? Tks

Your prop was designed to fit either a Fairchild KR21 or perhaps a Fleet 10, both equipped with a Kinner B 5 125 hp engine. Hope this helps.

Best I can tell you is it isn't prior to 1929, the year the earliest of those two aircraft were manufactured, and it easily cold be much later.

Please post it here or email me if you find out. In the past Hartzell's company historian has told me manufacturing date by serial number information isn't available. To my knowledge Sensenich is the only company that has that info. If that has changed, I'd like to update my web pages. Thank you!
