  • Flottorp, Grand Rapids 8, Mich. - please help.

    Hello,

    My stepfather past away last October and my mom and I found this propeller. I'm interested in learning all I can about it's original use, probable age and value. I would really appreciate it if someone could help.

    Identification marks include;
    1941B
    Des. 78-61
    H.P. 120
    Below center hole #: 61
    The center hole is 2 3/4"
    There are 6 bolt holes
    It is 78 inches long

    Has two Flottorp, Grand Rapids 8, Mich. insignias, one on each blade.
    The tips of the blades and the leading edges are metal tipped.
    Finish appears to be original untouched.
    Glue joints are sound.
    Any and all help or guidance is appreciated.

    You'll find the Flottorp listing here: http://www.modernwoodenpropellers.com/flottorp.htm but there is no listing for 78-61.

      Yes, I know. I've been to that site. That's why I came here. Do you think it means it's rare or not rare?

        Neither. It simply means I don't have complete, exhaustive information on prop usage. Nothing more, nothing less.
