  • Early wooden prop-Help with ID Please

We have this very nice early wooden propeller. It seems to be made of oak, it is 8 feet long, It is made in Baltimore by Paragon and looks like one that was made for the Jenny. The elongated "needle" type. There are 8 holes in the hub it is stamped with *576* on the outside of the hub and a 3 is stamped between 2 of the holes. I will attempt to attach a picture: Thank You

Does it have Paragon decals, or is that stamped into the wood?

I'm nearly certain that's for an OX5 engine, but just to be sure check the hub dimensions and compare them to the chart linked on that page.

      Paragon Prop

It is stamped into the wood. It is not too legible but is pretty recognizable after comparing it to the logos on the site. It clearly says Baltimore. I have more pics if that would help...

Check the hub dimensions just to be sure. I'm guessing that it's for an OX5, and certainly the most common usage for that style would be for the Curtiss JN4.
