The best you could possibly do is match the decal to a manufacturer. I'd have to look through some files to see if it matches. Drawing numbers and other identifiable stampings might lead to an aircraft for which it was designed.

I've become extremely skeptical of any validity to what a person is told by a previous owner. It's not usually fraudulent, just completely inaccurate.

Any chance of some photos of the whole thing and what markings does it have on the hub?

Thank you for this excellent photograph of a bumble bee decal.

I have recorded photographs of almost all US, CF, GB, F and D decals from the last 100 years, but not this one, except that a very distant bell is ringing in a dusty corner of my brain, but sparked by a memory of Tibbenham's Wasp I suspect.

Do you know the nationality of the prop maker?

            With kind regards,

            Bob

Good find. I wonder what ever came of this prop discussed here 6 years ago. We never got much more information about it.

Recently, the propeller was auctioned on the SE5 with a better logo than the one above.

Unfortunately, I don't know. The estimated price was £ 800-1200
