  • Help requested to ID propellor

I am keen to ID a wooden propellor that belonged to my great uncle.

The numbers on the propellor are:

    32627 and 1155

There is some sort of writing before each number, but I can't make out what.

I have been told that 1155 may refer to the length of the propellor (1155mm).

My great uncle had two planes, a Morane-Saulnier MS-137 and a Gypsy Moth. Since the numbers do not relate to any spare parts for the Gypsy Moth, I think that it might have been the propellor from the Morane-Saulnier. But I am keen to confirm this.

    Can anyone help?

I think more information would be needed, including the actual length and the hub dimensions. A picture would be helpful as well.

Not a problem. It will take a few days, since the propellor is not with me at the moment, but I will get back with a photo and the dimensions shortly. Many thanks.

Help requested to identify wooden propeller

Apologies about the late reply. It has taken this amount of time to get the correct details (the propellor is in Edinburgh). The dimensions are as follows:

Dimensions: 2415 mm tip to tip

70 mm internal diameter of the hole in the middle

External diameter of that middle bit is 195 mm

On the one side you can see the mark of what it was bolted to (or
might be the washer on the outside) which has a diameter of 180 mm

        There are 8 bolt holes

I have a couple of pictures which I will attach when I have worked out hw to!
