  • Mystery Propeller

I am attempting to identify the manufacturer of a small vintage wooden propeller. It appears to possibly be one used on a UAV and measures 24 inches from tip to tip with the tips being painted red with a yellow painted band inside of the red tips. It has a 2 inch diameter hole in the center with 4-1/4 inch flange holes. At the widest point the blades measure 2 3/8 inches wide. There is a number on the hub which is 10552-1. Any information which you could provide in identifying this propeller would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks,
    James Manley

They're usually pretty hard to identify with much specificity, but it certainly sounds like a typical " target drone" propeller used in the 1940s and 1950s. There were thousands of these sold off as surplus later on.

A picture might help, but I don't know of any reference to that design number, which might even just be a serial number.
