  • Help please

I purchased this propeller many years ago. I was told that it was from WWI but I know nothing about it. It appears to be very early and only has 6 bolt holes. I cannot find any stampings. It is 82" long. I would love to know more about it and what its value may be. Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's probably not "WW1", since most all of those were stamped with data, but it may very well be from prior to WW1, which is considerably more rare. Unfortunately, there is a very low likelihood that it can ever be identified.

Is it a single piece of wood or glued laminations?

It appears to have four laminations on each blade.

OK. That's more typical. How thick is the hub from front to back?

          3 1/2" at the hub.

I don't think there is enough information on the propeller to make enough of an identification that's needed to establish value. It could be nearly worthless or it could be worth thousands, but identification is the key.
