  • 1917 Hartzell Liberty, Walnut, Ser. No 26759

    Lenght:90 1/4 " , 8 bolt.
Unfortunately this prop has been carefully cut in half at the exact midpoint of the hub. Otherwise in very good condition with the decals and the stamped information very clear. I intended to cut two round plates from a sheet of 1/8" brass plate that I have and join the two pieces together to make a base for an over-the-mantle clock. Taking offers.

You'll find that info here: http://www.woodenpropeller.com/forum...ead.php?t=1925. The 1917 date is a typo I'm pretty certain.

It's not really a Hartzell "Liberty" propeller as those were only made very early in Hartzell's propeller history, around 1917, and they will have "Liberty" on the logo, as in this decal.

Your propeller looks like a considerably newer model, probably from the 40's or 50's

This link is an article from Flying mag and has the only picture that I have found showing the B17L with a wooden prop. I have one as well that I inherited from my father-in-law.
