  • New here and need help with a prop ID

    Hey all,
I am a commander of an American Legion Hall in long Island, While cleaning out the attic I came across a porpeller. It was stampedNO 4867 BAP 65789 DEH4 US12 9'2" X (I couldn't read this)

Any help in finding out where it came from would be great! I believe it's a WWII prop but no idea! Thanks all!

It's almost certainly for a DH4 using a Liberty engine. The "DEH4" is the aircraft stamping and the Liberty engine was commonly referred to as "U.S.12". The other stamping is the diameter of 9'2" and the stamping after that that is unreadable is the pitch. "BAP" refers to "Bureau of Aircraft Production" and I think the number associated with it is of no particular significance.

It was likely manufactured during or shortly after WW1.
