    Hi Dave,
I have a wooden prop that is 8' 6" with 8 mounting holes. There is a decal on the prop that says American Sash & Door Co.. There is also markings that say. 90 HP, 1400 RPM. Can you help me ID this prop.

You can only guess what it was used on, but it can be narrowed down by looking at hub dimensions.

I know that they were one of hundreds of manufacturers in the teens and twenties that got into propellers since they were already tooled for woodworking.

      wooden Prop

      Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply. I have attached a few pictures for you and I also did a little measuring. The hub is 4" thick with 8 bolts and hub center is 2 5/8'. I hope this will help a bit in the identification. From your information I think it was for a Curtiss OX5. I am also curious about the stamp on the back of the hub that says "Not Safe For Flying".

At some point it was almost certainly determined to be not airworthy, possibly even while still at the manufacturer, or it might have been a test model of some kind.
