  • Vintage Hartzell Prop ID help!!

    Hi everybody,

I recently purchased this prop and it didn't have much info with it. Can anyone help me with what aircraft it might have gone on and also aproximate age. I would greatly appreciate it. It is 48" long with a 6 1/2" hub and six bolt pattern. The stamp said design 921 and SER# 39778-A. I tried to post a couple of pics but they wouldn't work, please go to ebay and look at item#260032500247 to see pictures of it. I hope someone can tell me something about it. Thanks

I'm guessing that it's an airboat prop or some other non-aviation related use. It's really too short to fit any commonly found airplane, and the wide, flat blade is more characteristic of airboat or snow sleigh design. Also, the design number is not found on the list of Hartzell aircraft propellers.
