Postscript; reading back on this thread I see that Geerste has already found 185 on the hub, which confirms the prop as from a Freidrichshafen G II.

      Prop

Is it a hard to find prop?
It's the first I have seen for myself.
Could you give me any idea of the value.
      This for insurance purposes.
      Thanks

        Prop

Are there a lot of these props around?
It's the only one that i have seen?
The Friedriechshafen was built in small numbers.
Could you tell me where it was stationed?
        And which Bombersquadron used it?

          Geerste

The prop is very rare indeed, although this does not mean it is very valuable. At least. not yet. In the next five years we will celebrate the centenary of WW1 which will make artefacts from WW1 more valuable.

The Freidrichshafen G II was made in small numbers. I don't think there were more than two squadrons. It was quickly replaced by the G III.

The production G II initially used the 220ps Benz, but this was soon replaced by the Mercedes 260ps. Therefore yours, with a 200ps Benz must have been one of the very first G IIs produced.

Congratualtions on finding such a rare prop in such excellent condition.

          With kind regards,

          Bob
