I have a prop that my great grandfather took off a plane he flew only one time, so legend goes...my grandfather was also a pilot (one shy of an ace). Anyhow, not sure if great gramps had an original or just a tall tale? From what I've looked at online it does appear to be a Curtiss but the markings are different from what I've found and the hub does seem awfully clean...any help is much appreciated!

The usual bet with this kind of history is "tall tale".

We need a picture of the whole prop and any other markings, but what I see in that picture is a right hand, 8 foot Navy prop, probably a Paragon, that has been refinished and fitted with a dummy front plate.

I would remove the hub plate, measure the hub dimensions, and get a photo of the whole thing.
