  • Help with Propeller ID

I inherited a wood propeller from my great-uncle. I'd love to know the details behind it. Here's the information from it...

    Wood
    104"
    8 Lug
    Bolt Circle - 8"
    Bolt Size - 1/2"
    Approx Center Bore - 3"
    Approx Hub Diam - 10"
    Approx Hub Thickness - 3 1/2"

The measurements match up to a Liberty 12 engine, except the Hub thickness. Could this mean that this is half of a set?

    Coding:
    Blade 1:
    275-7
    2
    two three-sided symbol (like a Y offset)
    CP67662LH (I'm assuming a Curtiss Propellor & left hand)

    Blade 2:
    275-7 (same as other blade)
    I
    P676 3
    88X511

    Thanks!!!

Rebecca, the photo link didn't work for me. Is that the full URL?

It sounds as if your current assumptions are right on track, and it certainly sounds like it may be one of the thousands of propellers from the late teens and early twenties that the Navy and Signal Corps auctioned off as surplus.
