  • A Hartzell from Canada

My home town in Canada had two airforce bases within 25 miles. During WWII my Dad, a civilian, assisted pilots with tasks and ground transportation. He had great stories of pilots flying into North Dakota, and smuggling back liquor. Anyway...

Along his journey he was given a wooden prop. I am pretty sure it came off a Canadian militray plane, but beyond that I don't know much.

I'd like to determine its age, and possibly military use.

    HARTZELL
    707 80 (90)
    Ser #: 24926
    HP225

I saw where it could be off a Beech etc. But I'd like to find out the Canadain connection if possible.

Any websites out there that show age of props based on serial numbers etc?

    Thanks

To my knowledge there is no reference to Hartzell serial numbers. I have contacted the company and was told the older serial number records no longer exist and therefore are unavailable.

I have no idea how you would establish a Canadian connection. I strongly suspect you have already acquired all the information to be had on your prop.
