  • Help me to identify a Wooden Propeller

Hello, I'm writing from Mexico City I just purchased in an antique store a SENSENICH BROS. WOODEN PROPELLER it has the following nomenclature: DES 70D40
    SER B8959
    HP 80
    RPM 2700.
I wish to know if this was a military propeller, year of manufacture. I hope you can help me with this in order to have some idea of what its worth and how old it is.
Thank you again for your help and time.

    Greetings
    Tezanos

That design number is for Piper J4E, F, J5A or Stinson HW75 with a Continental A75 75 hp engine. The serial number indicates it was manufactured between October and December of 1943 so it most likely was made for an aircraft in use by the military.
