  • Hartzell Propeller

I have a Hartzell propeller that is about 96" in diameter and is stamped "Design 345", "SR No 12418". I am interested in the type of aircraft that may have utilized this propeller.

Unfortunately I'm unable to locate any information on your particular prop.

Thanks for trying. It has an eight bolt pattern if that helps. Years ago Hartzell told me that their records for that year had burned in a fire.

That model was built under Type Certificate Number 617, and all approvals expired on April 20, 1949, meaning that any propellers of that design manufactured after that date were not approved for certificated aircraft. (So it's a good bet that yours was manufactured before that date.)

You may be able to search the FAA database and find out more information from that. All I have is the dimensions
