4 bladed propeller

anybody knows why they did become used (more pull power at low rpm? then why not used more often?) and why the design was put aside? (higher rpm creating "not enough air"; vibrations?)

PS I am looking for a 4 bladed B.A.T. propeller from 1919 with tractor 8 ft and total 11 ft; suggestions? hansmooren@ziggo.nl thanks!
