  • help id prop please ?

Hi I have acquired a propeller clock from a relative and I am trying to find out about it .
The markings are DE H5 110 HP LE RHONE ENG ENGLISH TYPE BOSS

and on the other end it reads : DARRACO MOTOR ENG CO LTD LONDON

we also have some additional marks : T above 1708 and the letter A above the broad arrow and 3x small box's with AID 66K also 5491

This propeller contains a clock or should I say an original clock dial and bezel with hands and glass I'm afraid the movement seems to have been lost and replaced for a battery one

I do have some very nice images if its possible to post them ?

    Many thanks

    Andy

At a glance and without looking up the drawing number the stampings describe use on a DeHavilland DH5 airplane using a 110 horsepower LeRhone engine.

Darraco is the propeller manufacturer, and many of their products for a variety of aircraft are still around as display props.

I think all of the other numbers are various inspection stamps. Most props of that era have a drawing number stamped on them, but I don't see anything that corresponds to one in those numbers you posted.

See the thread at the top of the home page here for information about posting the photos.
