  • I was given an 82" tip -tip prop- need ID

this prop has id- (80 LXL 60 and below that is 16464) .It has a metal hub w/ 2 1/2" dia for a shaft. widest part of blade is 11" hub plate has 6 1/2" dia holes. Looks like it could be restored. I'd be glad to attach it to an email. Who manufactured it, what a/c did it come from and is it worth anything??

The letter X in the middle of the design number indicates that it is an airboat, not airplane prop, most likely manufactured by Sensenich. Does the prop have very wide blades that are very flat on the ends like these: http://www.sensenichprop.com/sen_htm.../wood_pic.html?

The drawing number is typical of an airboat propeller. See this page for some information. The shape is fairly characteristic.

If it's an airboat prop, it's not as collectible as an aircraft prop, but they do sell on ebay for a few hundred dollars sometimes. I think often the get sold because the buyer doesn't know it's for an airboat.
