? propeller or not

hopeing someone can help us figure out if this is a propeller for a plane or something else . we found this in a very very old barn . we know nothing about planes . any help we would be very grateful . i have looked on the internet cant find any propeller that has this look . there are no markings on it . it is 12 ' ft long .9 "5/8 close to the shaft and 5 "at the end .not really sure what kind of wood but we thing walnut it is 1 1/4' thick. thanks so much linda

No, it's not an aircraft propeller. It's almost certainly a wind generator of some kind, often seen in vineyards and orchards in California.

thank you so much we would have looked forever and never thought of that one . so when i have the garage sale this spring i,ll at least know what it is any idea what i should ask for it . thanks again and have a happy new year . linda

Not much, I wouldn't think. You see them on eBay periodically, but I've never seen one actually get sold, or if it did sell I wasn't paying attention.
