  • Should I restore my Curtiss HS2L-Falcon Propeller myself?

The propeller went thru a hurricane. Some of the fabric is pealed;there is delamination at places:a slice of wood missing in the back of one blade:a sign painted on the front:etc. Is it worth getting it restored? I can repare it myself to make it into a nice wall decoration for my airplane hanger, but it would be a remove the fabric, spackle,& paint job that would remove any collectors value. Is there anyone in the Pittsburgh,PA area that can restore it properly if it's worth it?---help appreciated

My advice is always to just leave it alone. If you want a restored propeller, get one that someone has already screwed up, but if you have an original, just keep it that way.
