  • Pia 58-27

I inherited this wood prop and looking for information on it. As you can see I am in the process of refinishing it. It had white tips on it. Anyone recognise it? It has PIA stamped on one part of the hub and 58-27 on the other part.

    Thanks

    Rick

This doesn't look like an aircraft prop, especially with only four bolt holes. I suspect this is a fan blade of some sort, perhaps the kind used to prevent frost in vineyards and other agricultural farms.

It appears to have had a lot of use as there appears to be a lot of ovality in the bolt holes. I doubt if it would have been on an aircraft with so much wear.
