  • WW1 Propeller

We are an aircadet unit and in out main hall we have a WW1 propeller which came out of an R.A.F Officers' mess. Unfortunatley that is all we know about it, but we believe the propeller came from an FE8.

In the centre of the hub there used to be a clock or a barometer.

Any help identyfing this propeller would be greatly appreciated.

The FE8 is a good bet. It "looks" identical to this one that just sold on eBay and has the same manufacturer decals.

Too bad about the hub getting cut up. It might be worth removing the wooden piece that's been added and see if there are any remaining stampings visible on the hub.

thanks i had thought about that, but did not want to damage it.the clock mounting is very well made and possibly glued. if it came out of a mess then that is also part of it,s history
