  • help required to identify prop, please.

    Hi,
i wonder if any of you clever chaps can help me please ?
I have come across a wooden blade ie one side of the propellor (cut off near the hub).
It is 44.5 inches long and 12 inches across at it's widest. It is made from solid timber perhaps mahogany. No identity marks are to be seen. It has a satin black coating and a yellow tip.
It is reported to have come from a Airspeed Oxford, would this be right ?
Any help would be gratefully received.
    Thanks Neal

Solid timber would be very unusual. Could it be Micarta?

Micarta looks a little bit like wood but is actually a composite material.

          Hi,
definitely original, supposedly from crashed aircraft. Does anyone know the make of the blade ?
          Thanks Neal

With no markings on the blade and no pictures we don't have much to use for identification. Sorry Neal.
