  • A prop bit or no?

    Evening wise prop folk.
My wife looks after an older lady, now 95!
Her father in law served in the RFC then RAF.
At the end of WW1 he returned home with this, the family story goes it being some part of a German plane downed, by whom or when unclear. It had much excitement in the family for many years...but may well have been used as a stand hence the 4 holes drilled in the smaller part of the boss.
We have hunted high and low on line but found nothing similar.
The central hub on a 4 blade prop ? airship my best guess.
Hendon had no further idea on taking to them.
    Anyone on fro a challenge?
The wood does not show well in photos but is 7 finely worked offset layers for the main hub and 2 for the small top end.
There are 8 main holding holes on the side.
The top of the boss is "A1986" & "G869 N21"
