  • Need Help Identifying Old Wooden prop

    We have an old wooden propeller that measures 71-1/2" long and only has two bolts in the center. We think it came from WWI and may be German. It has copper or brass edging on the ends.

    It looks to me like it's a wind generator propeller used in vineyards. They typically had that shape and usually only 2 bolt holes at the hub. Aircraft propellers typically have 6 and more commonly 8 bolt holes at the hub. Here's a picture of one in California:
