Original condition 1918 Paragon oak propeller manufactured by American Propeller Company, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Fitted for the Hall-Scott A7A 100 HP motor as part of a 1918 Standard J-1 biplane. This propeller from a Standard J-1 used by a Kansas "barnstormer" in the 1920's (I purchased from that pilot's great-nephew in Kansas in 1975). The first generation Standard J-1 were supplied with the 100HP Hall-Scott engine, which proved to be somewhat unreliable occasionally catching fire during flight ! This prop is in original condition, never refinished. One small suface mar near one copper tip and one trailing edge "dent", which most likely took it out of original service. A magnificent aviation buff collector's propeller !
