  • Napier Javelin "Invincible" Australia

Hi there, newby here. Looking for help to identify this propeller and estimation of valuation if any and to hopefully sell.
The marking of the propeller are as follows

    Napier Javelin
    "Invincible"
    Sept 1934
    D66
    P 4 85
No 3_6 (struggle to read middle no)

It is based in northern NSW Australia. Any help would be appreciated thanks

You've certainly got a head start with identification of the engine and the year of manufacture. The "D" and "P" typically refer to diameter and pitch, but 6 6 seems short from looking at the photos. How long is the prop from tip to tip? That number should be consistent with the "D" number.

I have no idea what "Invincible" refers to. You might try to contact a curator at the Shuttleworth Collection in England.

The left hand thread is consistent with gearing of the Napier engine.

I'm not sure about value, but a buyer would want to know what it looks like with the clock removed. Hopefully the hub wasn't routed out to accommodate it there.

Thanks for reply. From what I have tried to research, "invincible" was the tag the british manafactuer used.
The length from tip to tp is 80inchs (203cm)

A diameter of 80 inches would be 6' 8". Could those be the letters after the "D"?
