Oh! Another thought. Look at the bolt holes in the hub, both sides. If there is slight ovality in them and particularly if there are witness marks left by a washer on a bolthead which has pressed slightly into the wood, then the prop is a flown example. If not, it was a spare prop that de Havilland never used which your distant relative may have rescued from the 1930s, 40s or 50s equivalent of a skip.
