Default "newbie" prop owner question

So I just acquired my first prop...what I believe was used on a WWI DH-4, with Liberty engine based on the markings and size. The question I have is with the size (9'2"), I am wanting to stand it up vertically on our staircase (only place it will fit in our house) and I'm wondering if it's OK to stand the prop up with all the pressure being on one of the ends of the prop...or should I build some type of stand with a mount similar to what you post on the website so that all the weight is transferred to the hub area as opposed to one of the ends of the prop? Appreciate any recommendations.

Cheers,
Mark
